In this "digital first" era, where the use of digital technology is assumed in all business areas and processes of corporate activities, the roles played by CIOs, CTOs, and IT departments are changing. These leaders are expected to play a more central role in the company than ever before in engaging the business, enabling innovation, and recruiting and developing digital talent to achieve its growth. Japan CIO/CTO Tech Agenda (Japanese Version with Key English Language Reports) focuses on the roles of CIOs, CTOs, and IT departments in the "future enterprise," as defined by IDC, and proposes what the new "technology leaders" should be and what they should do. The document includes the ideal image of new "technology leaders" and the actions that should be taken by them. We will also investigate and analyze current issues such as IT department transformation, legacy system support, emerging technology adoption, and suitable vendor (tech supplier) selection.
