Abstract

This IDC Tech Buyer Presentation highlights the importance of knowing and involving with of post-quantum cryptography (PQC). Post-quantum cryptography may initially sound like it applies only to organizations experimenting with quantum computing. However, it can apply to any organization with secret or highly valuable data. Despite its name, PQC is not quantum computing, but rather classical computing encryption algorithms that are “quantum resilient,” meaning difficult for quantum computers to crack. With cybercriminals taking a “steal now, decrypt later” approach to stealing encrypted data, it is important for organizations to learn about PQC and its implementation. The post-quantum cryptography coalition (PQCC) is a vendor-neutral industry organization dedicated to help educate IT groups on issues and implementation of PQC.
