Abstract

This IDC Tech Buyer Presentation presents 18 national civilian government generative AI (GenAI) use cases and highlights the data modality, business impact, metrics that agencies should use to determine return on investment, and examples of agency use. Agency risk level and complexity for each use case is noted as high, medium, or low. GenAI can perform a wide range of disparate tasks with a high degree of accuracy and create new content using previously created content based on written, concise prompts. The multimodal nature of these models proves particularly appealing for national governments, given the heterogeneity of data used for decisioning in such use cases as those provided in this taxonomy document.
