Abstract
This IDC study provides worldwide forecast data for server operating system environments new license shipments, subscriptions, and nonpaid deployments for major OS platform types from 2022 to 2027, for both physical and virtualized deployment types. It also provides a revenue forecast for commercial OSs by major platform.
"The server operating system environments market continues to remain dynamic with some new trends at play since last year's document was published," said Greg Macatee, senior research analyst, Infrastructure Systems, Platforms, and Technologies Group at IDC. "We will keep an eye on potential market inhibitors as the year progresses, but overall, we anticipate for there to be prolonged opportunity in the marketplace during the longer-term forecast."
