Abstract

This IDC Survey Spotlight examines a portion of IDC Energy Insights' Worldwide Utilities Consumer Survey carried out in September and October 2024. It surveyed 3,000 energy customers from around the world, covering the following countries: Argentina, Australia, Colombia, France, Germany, Japan, Mexico, the Philippines, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, the U.K., the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and the U.S.

This report is part of a series of documents unveiling energy consumers' point of view across multiple areas, such as customer expectations and satisfaction, communication channels, , reasons for interactions with energy suppliers, customer experience (CX) and journey, and interest in new energy products and services.

This IDC Survey Spotlight examines CX improvement drivers for U.S. energy customers. It examines trends over the last couple of years, and highlights differences across age groups, namely younger customers (Gen Zers and Millennials) and "everyone else," which consists of energy customers over 44 years old.
