Abstract
China's 14th Five-Year Plan for the development of the robot industry proposes that by 2025, China will have become the hub for global robot technology innovation, a center for high-end manufacturing, and a new frontier for integrated application. In recent years, China's robotics technology and industry have achieved notable progress, especially in the field of industrial and service robots. Fueled by strong domestic growth and technological maturity, China robot manufacturers are aggressively expanding their global reach, with positive market results achieved.
This report focuses on the overseas market expansion of China's industrial robots and commercial service robots, discussing their advantages, regional distribution, representative models, and major manufacturers, and giving recommendations based on current challenges.
"Embracing the international market has become a necessary step for China robot manufacturers to evolve. Starting with the cost advantages created by domestic mature industrial chains, China robot makers proactively expand their overseas markets by leveraging the economies of scale stemming from abundant domestic use cases. They are enhancing the intelligent experience through rapid product iteration to foster new competitive edges, gaining traction in overseas markets. China's industrial robots and commercial service robots have achieved rapid market growth in Asia/Pacific, Europe, and North America. Next, in the face of complex overseas market challenges, manufacturers should continuously refine their technical strength and market competitiveness by reinforcing business localization, compliance risk control, new AI technology integration, the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) value of robots, as well as international brand building. In this way, they can add more value to the development of the global robot industry," says Lily Li, research manager for emerging technologies, at IDC China.
