Abstract

This study provides IDC's top 10 predictions for worldwide services for Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) (APEJ) for the next five years (2025–2030). This year's predictions for APEJ are once again dominated by the influence of AI and generative AI (GenAI), but with more of a focus on driving adoption into production rather than the experimentation observed last year, especially in areas such as skilling; environmental, social, and governance (ESG); data; application modernization; and so forth.

Economic expectations from 2025 in APEJ remain optimistic compared with the global average. According to the IDC's Future Enterprise Resiliency and Spending Survey Wave 6, published in August 2024, 73% of enterprises in Asia/Pacific indicated the annual gross domestic product (GDP) will be higher than expected for 2025, higher than the global average.

IDC's point of view also includes expectations on how the enterprise ecosystem in the Asia/Pacific region will continue to lean on the expertise of IT and business SPs to accelerate value from AI investments.
